Lucerne, Switzerland

Well we had high hopes for Lucerne, Switzerland and it’s beauty didn’t disappoint. The setting of this medieval city along Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps was beautiful. In our couple days here it was pretty cold though as the sun only came out briefly in the afternoons/evenings.

One thing we found that was a common theme for Switzerland was EXPENSIVE! We must’ve walked to at least 30 restaurants all over the city and we never saw any menu entrée for less than $20 USD. To give you an idea of the pricing here, a tall hot chocolate from Starbucks was $7.70. This made it a little difficult to truly let loose and enjoy the Swiss way of life, but we did see all the big sights of the city and “splurged for one night eating out” at a great “cheap”. Our second night we enjoyed McDonald’s $2.50 cheeseburgers and didn’t even feel guilty eating there.

We did get some delicious Swiss chocolates though and my Dad would be jealous that we had some amazing fresh brioches right out of the oven. We hope you enjoy the pictures…

Sean, You are right, I am jealous. That brioche had my name on it. Dad
