Bula Bula from Fiji

Greetings Everyone,

We've made it to Nadi, Fiji after a long 12 hour flight but its definetly worth it! Our first day was spent by the pool doing water aerobics and getting sun burned (who knew you have to put sunscreen on within 2 minutes of exposure, i guess close to the equator).

We're staying at he Sofitel Hotel here in Nadi and it is heaven on earth - a truly magical place. The people are so nice, everyone greets you with a huge smile and a Bula (no matter if they've ever seen you before).

Today, we had the privilege of meeting all of Pate's close family. They were so friendly and welcoming and had a big party for us at their home. We got to experience lots of traditional Fijian foods like white fish and coconut milk and dalo which is a native root crop or starch. Also tried lots of curry dishes. We were even treated to a special vocal performance before we left where Pate's cousin's daughter (6 years old) sang "Shari Amore" by Stevie Wonder. What a blessing they've been.

This next week we will sail on the Hobie Cat and maybe rent jet skis to one of the nearby beaches. On Sunday, we will visit one of the local churches and we hope to go with Rosena (Pate's mother) to the Orchid farm on the other side of the island.

Needless to say, we're having a wonderful time and hope all is well back home.

Bula,

Sean & Jillian
