Tuscan Countryside

It must’ve been brilliant planning, because after 3 days in Rome our feet were tired !(we even set a trip record of 34,000 steps the 2nd day we were there) It was time for a rest, and the vineyard hills of Tuscany was the perfect place to sit back and relax for a few days.

I am very fortunate to have a sister in the restaurant business, and before the trip we made contact with a winery in the Chianti region of Tuscany that they buy wine from. They generously offered for us to stay for free in the guesthouse for a couple nights, and we have to say it was amazing!

The winery borders a cute little Tuscan town (Castelnuovo Berardenga) and we were able to walk into town for dinners and to pass time by during the day. Another great thing about the town being close by was that we didn’t have to rent a car, as we got there by taxi from Siena and made it back to Siena by bus.

Pictures just don’t do it justice, but they’ll give you an idea…
